HEAVY RAIN AND SMALL CREEK RISES THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING

Through Friday morning, a series of fronts will bring multiple rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall to the area. The first ongoing front is expected to bring 1 to 2 inches of rain to the Juneau area the rest of today, with the second round of heavy rain bringing an additional 1 to 2 inches through tonight. More localized higher amounts are possible due to terrain effects, but overall the moderate to heavy rainfall is expected to last into the overnight hours and Friday morning with not much of a break between the rounds of precipitation.

The precipitation amounts that have fallen today and the additional forecasted amounts expected through Friday morning are expected to bring rises to small creeks and rivers in the area. While small creeks and rivers may reach bankfull, there is no flooding anticipated at this time.
