...The Flood Warning continues for the following river in Illinois... Wisconsin...

Fox River Lower Near New Munster affecting Kenosha and Lake Counties.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Fox River Lower near New Munster.

* WHEN...Until Friday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Water is up to the first floor levels of some homes in the Town of Wheatland, Silver Lake and Village of Salem Lakes area along Riverside Drive and Shorewood Drive. Hoosier Creek Rd floods.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 3:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 11.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 3:00 AM CDT Thursday was 12.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning and continue falling to 8.8 feet Wednesday evening. - Flood stage is 11.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 11.7 feet on 05/10/2019. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

What to do

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

* IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming conditions are expected due to high waves and onshore winds.

What to do

Stay out of the water and away from dangerous areas like piers and breakwalls. Strong structural and longshore currents are expected. Rip currents are possible.
